At this event, the DC Public Library Foundation honored the architect of the DC Public Library Renaissance, the Honorable Anthony A. Williams, radio personality and freedom advocate, Mr. Kojo Nnamdi, and New York Times Best selling Author and Poet, Mr. Clint Smith. 

They also celebrated the legacy of their annual banned book Event; Battle of the Banned, by showcasing four new banned book art displays created by all star DC librarians! Our freedom in DC is not guaranteed!

This event continues to raise hundreds of thousands for DC’s public libraries and brings attention to the value of free and open access to information.
